Analogue or rather digital?

The ticking of an analogue clock has something nostalgic, although it can also make you incredibly nervous. The ticking sound or the absence of it is therefore often a decisive factor for those looking for a designer clock. Several brands, meanwhile, already offer silent analog clocks, definitely something to think about.

No idea which is the best option for you? At best, an analogue clock will be able to give you the time combined with the date, consisting of day and month. You can read all that information through pointers or cards that turn over. At least with a digital clock, you won't have any more ticking and they can also give a lot more information. But they can just as easily indicate the time. Note that the more information your clock gives at first glance, the busier it will look. The choice is yours!

Numbers, letters or something completely different?

OK, you've already made the choice between analogue and digital, but how well can you read clocks? The easiest and most readable option is undoubtedly to opt for the standard Arabic numerals from one to twelve. Even the smallest child can read those! Still, the choice often falls on the classic look of Roman numerals, which is then I to XII, already a bit more difficult to make clear to your small children that the TV has to be turned off at a quarter past six.

Of course, they wouldn't be designer clocks if your choice is limited to Arabic or Roman. No, the simplest clock is the one with words, yes really, a clock with words. That one tells you exactly what time it is! Such a design looks great in a modern interior.

But there are more options, of course. There are also clocks that are not divided into segments, where you can only tell the time by looking at the hands. These designs look great in minimalist or industrial interiors. Although they are a lot less practical. Whichever clock you choose, if it has to perform a practical function, you will have to ensure that everyone in the house can read the time without any problems.

The perfect designer clock for your interior

Different interiors, different clocks. In most cases, the clock will match the rest of your living style. Although a giant wall clock might be just the lavish eye-catcher your minimalist living room still needs. Whatever you choose we are happy to give a few tips.

Will the clock be a decorative piece on its own, without the proximity of other decoration? Then you can go much bigger than if you surround it with other decoration.

And where exactly should you hang your new wall clock? Well as with paintings, it is recommended to hang a wall clock so that the centre is at eye level. Beware, if you use the wall clock as decoration in the dining room, the eye height is calculated based on a seated person. This way, your designer clock will always be the eye-catcher in your interior.
